Merry Christmas!!

Yea!!! Christmas is almost here. Seven days to be exact!! This is my favorite time of the year. I was a little behind this year on my shopping, but Tom and I went last Saturday and pretty much wiped out the entire list!! I also did quite a bit of online shopping, which I love, especially now when pretty much everyone is offering free shipping!!

Tom has been working out of town the past couple of weeks. I usually don't like when he is gone, but this week was kind of nice!! I put Avery to bed at about 7:30 every night and went in the basement and wrapped gifts, and I didn't have to feel guilty about being down there all night long!!

Saturday night we are headed to the Gatti residence for a little Christmas Party!! It should be lots of fun!! I'm planning on taking green bean casserole and some christmas cookies.

Jenny and I baked cookies last Thursday. We started at 9am and we baked, and baked and baked and baked until about 10pm!! We had sooooooo many cookies.....8 batches of cut-outs, 3 batches of peanut butter blossoms and 3 batches of monster cookies!!

Did I mention that I'm so excited for Christmas this year!?! Avery will be so much fun, I can't hardly stand it :o)

Bumps, Bruises and More.....

Well, Christmas season is upon us, and I have already recieved several christmas cards. So I decided that I would dress Avery up today (Wednesday) and try and get some pictures for our cards to send. I should have taken them early this morning, but we were wayyyyy to busy. Then I should have taken them when Avery woke up from her nap, but no....I fed her lunch instead....and for some reason I gave her a cookie with green frosting for dessert, and it stained her face!! I should have taken the pics after the green frosting finally faded, but no.....I called my sister and started gabbing!! Then.....BANG.....SCREAM......Avery tripped over her feet and fell right into the corner of the walls.....instant bump/bruise on her forehead with a line all the way down to her chin!! Poor thing :o(. She finally calmed down, about 2 hours later, and I attempted the pictures. I got one!! It doesn't show the bruise too badly!!

Goal Accomplished!!

Finally, I've finally accomplished my goal of turning the spare room/computer room into Avery's playroom. Next step, buying a laptop computer so we can move the desk and filling cabinet out of the playroom.

Puppy!!

Last week, my sister and brother-in-law were home for a few days!! It was so nice to see them and spend time with them. I wish they lived closer!! They also brought along their new puppy, Sadie!! She stayed at our house Thursday night, but Friday night she was crying, so Amanda and Greg had to take her to Mom and Dad's. Avery loved Sadie....too bad, because she won't be getting a dog!!

Circus, Circus, Circus

On Saturday, Mike, Val and the kids, Katy, Rick, Cooper, Tom, Avery and I all loaded up in Paul and Jenny's big white van and headed for the Circus!! I was so excited. I had never been to the circus before!! We left our house at 1:30 and didn't get home until 9:00. It was an exhausting day for the kids. Sorry, I can't post any pictures. When I took my camera out to take the first picture, the batteries fell out and were lost forever (and of course I didn't have any extras).

Jill, I hope you don't mind, but I like how you do thoughts for the day, so I'm going to copy you!!

Thoughts for the day:
~Don't take an 18mo old to the circus!! (She enjoyed it, but it was way to long for her to sit still)

~Don't purchase any suveniers at the circus-such a rip-off!! (We bought Avery a bag of cotton candy that came with a top hat and it cost $12-can you believe it...... $12 for pure sugar!!! I learned my lesson-ask how much it costs before saying I'll have one!!)

~I'm enjoying these last few days of 70 degree weather.....hopefully a bike ride will be in the plans!!

~I couldn't sleep last night....I was so interested in all of the election updates

~And finally, I'm a little nervous about what's going to happen these next 4 years....I think we are all going to have to do lots of praying.

Avery goes to a playgroup on Wednesday mornings called Wee-Two's. It's from 9:30 to 10:30 at St. Peter's church in Apple Creek. Our friend Linda Hartsell goes to church there and she invited Avery to come and play with her grandson Jax. Avery has made new friends. Today, they wore their Halloween costumes. Everyone was so cute. Avery of course was a lady bug, Liam was an elephant (his costume was handmade by his aunt!!), Carter was a penguin, Aleena was a lady bug too!! Lexi was Minnie Mouse, Connor was a knight and Jax was a turtle. (I will try and post pictures). Every week, when we get home, Avery goes straight to bed...It wears her out!!

What a week!!

Wow, it's been a super busy week. Let me tell you about it....
- Monday - up at 5:30am, leave for work at 7am, home from work 7:30pm, frosted the cookies I made on Sunday, made chocolate suckers and jello jigglers for Avery's playgroup on Wednesday.

- Tuesday - up at 6am, put supper in the crockpot, leave for work at 7:45am, home from work 5:30pm, eat dinner, clean up dinner dishes, made more cookies and got craft together for Avery's playgroup.

- Wednesday - up at 6am, breakfast, played with Avery for a little while, 9:15 left for playgroup, 11am home from playgroup, started cleaning out the spare room (we want to make it a playroom for Avery so our living room doesn't always look like a tornado!!), mowed the lawn, started dinner, etc, etc.

- Thursday - up at 7am (Yeah-Avery slept in!!) Vaccumed the carpet(yes at 7am!!) breakfast, started laundry, 9:15am off to run errands, 10:30 home so Avery could take a nap. 12:45 lunch and off to Toyriffix with Cousin Jenny and Hank!! Then to Wal-Mart, Nice as New (had to pick up my $10 check!!), bank, Apple Creek Market, then home again!! 4:30 started dinner, etc, etc, etc.

- Friday - up at 5am, left for work 6:30, home from work 1:30, left for mall to get an outfit for Avery for 18mo pictures, home, went to the neighbors to visit for a while, home to eat supper, then we carved pumpkins!!

- Saturday - up at 6:30, breakfast, got Avery ready for pictures, done at 10am, Tom took her home, I went to a hair appointment (My first appointment since Amanda left :( - but Lindsey did an awesome job!!), home, lunch, Aunt Shari came over to close my candle party, now I'm blogging!! However, Trick or Treat is this afternoon from 4-6pm, then GO BUCKS!!

In closing, I hope I can relax a little more next week!!

Who needs sleep!?!

What a weekend!!! I am so exhausted, Avery hasn't been sleeping well for about a week now (not sure what the deal is). I'm guessing it's a combination of a few things - teething, stuffy nose, etc. She's also decided that she's not really into taking naps either!!! She went to sleep fairly quickly tonight, so i'm praying that she sleeps all night long, no 3am wake up calls!!!
