EEEEK...........Avery's in KINDERGARTEN!!!

 

Well, the day has arrived. Little Miss Avery is in Kindergarten! ALL day, EVERY day, Kindergarten! I know she's ready, I know she will be fine; it's ME who is having separation issues!! I work part-time, so it's so hard knowing that on my Wednesday's and Thursday's when I'm home - she won't be :( 



On Monday's and Friday's, Avery will be getting on the bus at Rosetta's (the babysitter) house. Mr. Hauenstein is the driver for bus #14.

Mia and I shed a few tears after Avery got on the bus. Mine were because Avery is off on a new journey in life, Mia's were because she didn't want to go home with me!! She wanted to stay with Rosetta! LOL

Mrs. Mast is bus #8 driver that will pick her up from our house on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday mornings and bring her home from school every day.



After school, Miss Erika and Liam (green shirt & fellow kindergartener), our next door neighbors, invited us over for a "I survived the First Day of Kindergarten" cupcake party!! Ava (the girl in the middle is a backyard neighbor and is in Avery's kindergarten class as well!!)

Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I have so much to be thankful for!! I have a WONDERFUL husband, 2 BEAUTIFUL girls, a NICE home, a GREAT job and the list goes on, and on, and on!!

Mia is WALKING!! She started yesterday. I'm sure by Christmas she will be doing pretty well with it!! She still only has 2 cute little teeth....I'm patiently waiting for some more to pop through!! I do brush those 2 teeth faithfully, though!!

I admit, I already have my christmas decorations up!! I love Christmas!! I pretty much am all done shopping for the girls, too!! I can't believe it - I usually don't start until after Thanksgiving. Avery is so funny.....I asked her the other day what she was going to ask Santa for and her response was "a box of Popsicles!!"

Tom is such a good guy!! I thought our house would look pretty with icicle lights and he climbed up on the roof and hung them up (he won't let me turn them on until Thursday night though!!) Pictures to come!!

Can't wait to check out the Black Friday ads tomorrow and Thursday!!

I'm still ALIVE!!

So, I'm still alive and breathing. I just haven't blogged in a LONG while. I promise to update in day or two (or three or four.....HAHAHA). No, really, I'm hoping to get to it tomorrow night!!

September

What a month this has been!! Avery is in full swing with pre-school, gymnastics and swimming lessons. Tom has been working, working, working. Miss Mia is growing, growing and growing and I've been trying to keep up with everything!!

Avery goes to St. Peter's Preschool in Apple Creek on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:30. I think she is enjoying it, she comes home singing new songs and it is so cute!! Last Thursday when I went to pick her up, one of the other mom's said to me that her little boy, Cody, just ADORES Avery. She said Avery is all that he talks about!! If anyone asks him about school, he talks about Avery!! So on the way home, I said to Avery, "So, I hear you have a new friend named Cody." Her reply..."Who's Cody?" I giggled the whole way home!! She must be playing hard to get already!!

Saturday mornings are busy, busy for the Burson's!! Avery has gymnastics from 9:30-10:15 at the Dalton YMCA and from there we take her to Orrville YMCA for swimming lessons from 10:45-11:15!! Needless to say, Saturday afternoons and pretty peaceful around our house!!

Miss Mia is growing like the weeds in my flowerbeds!! She's 11 months old already. I'm thinking she weighs around 21 pounds!! Her first 2 teeth FINALLY popped in the last couple of days!! She's crawling around and pulling herself up onto things. She even lets go and stands by herself for a couple of seconds before plopping onto the ground!! Her favorite thing right now is finding the smallest pieces of who knows what on the floor and putting it in her mouth!!

Tom has been working his little tushy off this summer. This weekend though, he is going to get some "me time" as he calls it!! He's headed to Pennsylvania to golf his little heart out!! We will miss him, but it's preparing us for when he has to start working out of town. (insert sad face!!)

Now, onto me!! Work, housework, etc., etc.!!!

Mother Nature has been in full force this month too!! We are very thankful, though, that the only damage we had from either of the storms was hail damage to our minivan. $3500 worth to be exact!! It seemed like a lot at the time, but compared to the victims of the tornado, it fails to compare......

Big BIG day!!

My little girl is growing up, way too fast!! Today was parent/child orientation at preschool. (Note: I did NOT cry today, but Tuesday, is another story!!) She said she had fun. The theme for this school year is Frogs. She's "Leaping" into learning!!

New Recipes

I LOVE trying new recipes!! Yesterday, I tried a Philly Cheesesteak recipe. It was DELICIOUS & the best part was that it was easy prep, and it cooked all day in the crock-pot. I love using the crock-pot on days that I work, that way, when I get home, supper is usually almost ready!! From a working mom's standpoint, I think the crock-pot is one of the best-ever inventions!!

There is also 2 new recipes on the menu for tonights supper!! Pizza Pork Chops and Orzo with Parmesan & Basil.

I'm also going to be canning some tomato soup this week sometime. This will be a first for me, too!! This year we have done applesauce, corn, green beans and tomato juice. I love eating all of these goodies throughout the winter months. It makes all the hard work worth it!!

Fun Fun Wednesday

All summer long, I've been wanting to take our babysitter, Rosetta, and her sisters, Darlene and Michelle, swimming. Today, we finally were able to go!! Avery and the girls had so much fun. It was the perfect day for swimming and laying poolside. And since we were lounging around at the pool all day, I didn't feel like cooking supper, so my AWESOME husband took us to Green Leaf. YUMMY!! Tomorrow is back to reality.....Laundry, cleaning, and canning green beans.

July + August = Busy, Busy, Busy!!

So, July has came and went and we are well on our way into August!! Summer is flying by once again!!

Miss Mia is 9 months old already!! I took her a couple weeks ago to get her pictures taken and she did SOOO good!! Miss Martha does an awesome job!! Today, Avery started swimming lessons at the Orrville YMCA. She did so well. I was very proud of her. I'm hoping that by the time we go on vacation next summer, she will be swimming by herself!!

Last weekend, Tom and I did some much needed work in the flowerbeds!! We didn't get it all done, so hopefully tomorrow, we will finish up. My flowers in my back flowerbed are just gorgeous!!

Last night, after I got off of work, my parents, the girls and I loaded up and headed south to Clarksville, TN. We arrived at my sister's house around 2 am. The girls traveled so well and slept a lot of the way, so when we unloaded the van, they were wound for sound!! I love spending time with my family - we just wish daddy could be here with us. He stayed home to work. I keep teasing him that he's the one that's on vacation, since he's home ALONE!! Don't worry, he'll miss us like crazy by tonight! (I also left him a pretty long hunny-do list to keep him from getting too bored!!)

Tomorrow, we're headed to a water park, the Nashville Zoo is on the agenda and maybe an inflatable jumping place while we are here.

I'M BACK!!

Holy Moly!!! Where has the time gone!?! March 17, 2009 was my last post.....oops!! No excuses....well, maybe just a few!!

The first excuse - We became a family of 4 (which everyone knows about I'm sure, because she is almost 9 months old now!!) Miss Mia Cristine is just a joy!! She is such a good baby, especially now, since she FINALLY started sleeping through the night!! I weighed her the other day, and she was a whopping 19 pounds! We are still waiting on teeth and each day, she is getting closer and closer to crawling.

Excuse #2 - Avery Josephine!! Avery is almost 3 1/2 years old now, and FULL of energy!! She loves to play outside, silly bands are a new favorite thing right now (thanks Aunt Amanda!!) and Barney!! Starting in September, she will be going to pre-school on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for 2 hours. She is VERY excited, however, Mommy is having a hard time dealing with the fact that her BABY is old enough to attend pre-school!! (Tom told me to suck it up!! LOL)

So no more excuses!! My goal is to stay up to date from now on.....hopefully a couple posts a week....ok..ok...probably more like 1 a week!! LOL!!

Day Off

It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood today!! The sun is shining, it's going to be in the 60's (yea!!), and I am home from work....but only because Avery is sick. When I went in to wake her up this morning to go to Rosetta's (the babysitter), she was burning up....102 temperature. So I get to spend the day inside taking care of my baby...I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I have self diagnosed Avery with Hand,Foot,Mouth disease. She has a couple blisters on the inside of her cheek. Luckily, she is still eating for me, we will see how the rest of the day goes. So far, she has been sleeping the day away.

Time

Again, I am finding myself saying, "Where has the time gone?" Several of my girlfriends and I from high school are planning our 10 year class reunion!! Somedays, it feels like yesterday that we were attending good ole Waynedale.....and here we are today...all grown up (well, most of us, LOL) It's hard work trying to plan this event...trying to figure out how many people we think will show up, and how much people will want to pay. I think we've decided to have it at Memories Party Center in Wooster. We will be having dinner, drinks and a dj....sounds like fun, right!!

Busy Weekend

We had a crazy, busy weekend....but fun filled!! Amanda and Greg had their marriage blessing and reception. It was beautiful. Amanda looked georgous as usual, Greg was handsome, and Avery was just too cute as the flower girl. She did so well. I knew it was going to be a long day, and I was worried. But she was a trooper!! Amanda picked me up to go to the salon at 7:30. So Tom brought Avery in at 8:45 to the salon, so she could get her hair done. Then he took her home, so she could nap before having her to the church at 12:45. She walked down the aisle with me, and then she sat with Tom in the pew for the ceremony. She even smiled for pictures afterward. Then we were off to the reception at Memories Party Center. Avery danced the entire night!! She had so much fun!!

Can't Sleep

It's 1 am...what am I still doing awake at this hour!?! It's very unusual to find me awake past 10 o'clock!!

~I'm super excited...my sister is coming home on Sunday for the week!!
~We are celebrating Amanda and Greg's wedding on Feb. 21
~Our friends from New Jersey are coming in this weekend too...it's going to be a busy week!!
~I'm over due on my eye exam, so I scheduled an appointment today
~Tomorrow is Valentines Day!! Oops, I mean today is Valentines Day :o)
~Tom's Jeep died this week, so now we are down to one car

Ohhhh Avery!!

Well, what can I say!?! Let me just start with.....Avery keeps me on my toes!! She is into everything....no joke!! About a month ago, she discovered how to open doors. So last week, I found her in her bathroom....she had took a stool in there from her playroom and got into the drawer and found the vasoline....it was everywhere.....countertop, sink, hair, face, clothes...etc, etc!! Then, the next day, I found her in her playroom with her hands down her pants, and of course it was a poopy diaper, and she had smeared it on her door....YUCK!! Just this past Friday, I found her in her bathroom again, and she was dipping her toothbrush in vasoline and brushing her teeth with it!! And then, to top it off....on Saturday, I had a hair appointment, so Tom was at home with Avery. He said she was in her playroom playing for a few minutes and he went in to check on her, and what did he find?......Avery- completely naked, no clothes or diaper.....and 3 piles of poop on the floor!!! Oh my oh my. Needless to say, he had to call my mom to come help him clean it up. From now until Avery is potty trained, she is wearing a onesie...no ifs ands or buts about it!!

In other notes:

- We had fun in the snow!! (But I am sooooo ready for spring!!) I'll take temperatures like today though (40+degrees!!)

Wow....I'm finally done......I'm sure you know more about me now than you wish you had, but it was fun....try it!!

Merry Christmas!!

Yea!!! Christmas is almost here. Seven days to be exact!! This is my favorite time of the year. I was a little behind this year on my shopping, but Tom and I went last Saturday and pretty much wiped out the entire list!! I also did quite a bit of online shopping, which I love, especially now when pretty much everyone is offering free shipping!!

Tom has been working out of town the past couple of weeks. I usually don't like when he is gone, but this week was kind of nice!! I put Avery to bed at about 7:30 every night and went in the basement and wrapped gifts, and I didn't have to feel guilty about being down there all night long!!

Saturday night we are headed to the Gatti residence for a little Christmas Party!! It should be lots of fun!! I'm planning on taking green bean casserole and some christmas cookies.

Jenny and I baked cookies last Thursday. We started at 9am and we baked, and baked and baked and baked until about 10pm!! We had sooooooo many cookies.....8 batches of cut-outs, 3 batches of peanut butter blossoms and 3 batches of monster cookies!!

Did I mention that I'm so excited for Christmas this year!?! Avery will be so much fun, I can't hardly stand it :o)

Bumps, Bruises and More.....

Well, Christmas season is upon us, and I have already recieved several christmas cards. So I decided that I would dress Avery up today (Wednesday) and try and get some pictures for our cards to send. I should have taken them early this morning, but we were wayyyyy to busy. Then I should have taken them when Avery woke up from her nap, but no....I fed her lunch instead....and for some reason I gave her a cookie with green frosting for dessert, and it stained her face!! I should have taken the pics after the green frosting finally faded, but no.....I called my sister and started gabbing!! Then.....BANG.....SCREAM......Avery tripped over her feet and fell right into the corner of the walls.....instant bump/bruise on her forehead with a line all the way down to her chin!! Poor thing :o(. She finally calmed down, about 2 hours later, and I attempted the pictures. I got one!! It doesn't show the bruise too badly!!

Goal Accomplished!!

Finally, I've finally accomplished my goal of turning the spare room/computer room into Avery's playroom. Next step, buying a laptop computer so we can move the desk and filling cabinet out of the playroom.

Puppy!!

Last week, my sister and brother-in-law were home for a few days!! It was so nice to see them and spend time with them. I wish they lived closer!! They also brought along their new puppy, Sadie!! She stayed at our house Thursday night, but Friday night she was crying, so Amanda and Greg had to take her to Mom and Dad's. Avery loved Sadie....too bad, because she won't be getting a dog!!
